Job summary

UF Health in St. Augustine, FL is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support pre- and post-operative care in a fast-paced operating room.

You will organize supplies, prepare the sterile field, hand instruments to surgeons, prepare dressings, and clean instruments and the OR after procedures. Required: graduate Accredited Surgical Tech Program or 1-year surgical tech experience; BLS within 30 days; flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Graduate Accredited Surgical Tech Program OR 1-year Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech experience.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred: Certified Scrub Technician.

Responsibilities

• Prepare supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Set up the surgeon's sterile field and anticipate surgeon's needs.
• Assist with surgical instruments during the operation.
• Prepare sterile dressings and clean instruments and the operating room post-operation.

Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist provides surgical assistance pre and post operation. Organizes and prepares supplies and equipment for procedures. Sets up the operating surgeon’s sterile field and anticipates surgeon's needs. Provides direct assistance for surgical procedure: assists surgeon with surgical gowns and gloves, hands the desired instruments to the surgeonduring the operation, prepares sterile dressings. Cleans the surgical instruments and operating room post operation.

FTE: 0.90 (3-12's shifts)

Qualifications

Education

Required: Graduate Accredited Surgical Tech Program OR 1-year Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech experience.

Experience

Required: Less than 1 year Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech experience.

Certificates/Licenses/Registration

Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain BLS through the American Heart Association (AHA), within 30 days of hire
Preferred:Certified Scrub Technician
