Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our operating rooms. The role emphasizes sterile technique, instrument handling, and assisting the surgical team to ensure patient safety during invasive and non-invasive procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing the environment, maintaining sterility, and supporting care before and after procedures. Experience in an operating room is preferred, with LPN licensure acceptable for some roles.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of surgical technology or an accredited school of practical nursing (LPN) is required.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical and surgical terminology, instrumentation, aseptic techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to work under supervision of a surgeon and adapt in a fast-paced operating room.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in line with quality and service goals.
• Assist with assessing, planning, implementing and documenting patient care.
• Ensure safe operating room environment and proper functioning of equipment.
• Maintain organized sterile field and accountability for instruments used during procedures.
• Prepare patients and supplies prior to procedures and assist in positioning and transport as needed.
• Support case preparation and cross‑functionally coordinate with the surgical team.
