Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our Surgical Services Team at Baptist Medical Center Clay in Fleming Island. This is a PRN various shift position with no call requirement, not nights, weekends, or holidays.

You will assemble and maintain a sterile field, anticipate the surgeon's needs, and support a safe operative environment. Education includes an Associate's degree and BLS; CST is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• CST preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and prepare instruments and supplies accordingly.
• Ensure proper handling and disposition of surgical specimens and instruments.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety.
• Participate in the required call rotation.

Education

Associate's degree or equivalent experience

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – NBSTSA/NCCT preferred
