Job summary

Sentara Leigh in Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. You will prepare the OR with instruments and equipment, maintain a sterile field, pass instruments, and anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout procedures, ensuring patient safety and a clean, organized environment.

Licensure and certification are required: Virginia Surgical Technologist License, NBSTSA/NCCA Surgical Technologist Certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Virginia Surgical Technologist License is required.
• NBSTSA/NCCA Surgical Technologist Certification is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required.
• Prior Surgical Technologist experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with instruments and equipment.
• Pass instruments and maintain the sterile field during procedures.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and support the team.
• Assist with dressings and transfer patients to recovery.
• Adhere to infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
