Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent's St Johns County Hospital in St Johns, FL is hiring a Surgical Technologist for the Surgery department. You will prepare the operating suite with sterile instruments and supplies, pass instruments to the surgeon, and assist with patient positioning and draping during procedures.

Maintain instrument counts, organize instruments, and support hemostasis as needed. A High School diploma with relevant experience or an Associate's/technical degree is required, plus BLS

Qualifications

• Prepares the surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintains organized instrument counts throughout procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
• Assists surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.
