Qualifications

• Technical school graduate in Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing required or
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required
• 0-2 years of operating room surgical technician experience required

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the operating room for surgical cases with proper aseptic technique.
• Assists surgical team by passing instruments accurately and efficiently.
• Handles surgical instruments and ensures proper sterilization and inspection.
• Performs counts with circulating nurse to ensure patient safety.
• Assists in patient positioning, draping, and transfers.
• Maintains physician preference cards and ensures supplies are available.
• Cleans, reprocesses, and sterilizes instruments per protocols.
• Restocks supplies and prepares rooms for subsequent cases.
• Maintains regular attendance and compliance with policies.
