Job summary

Mat-Su Regional Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team. You will prepare and maintain sterile fields, assist with procedures, and ensure instruments are ready for use.

This role emphasizes infection prevention, adherence to standards, and collaboration with surgeons to deliver high-quality patient care in a supportive environment.

Hours are 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with 8-hour shifts and no nights, weekends, or on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program required or
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required
• 0-2 years of operating room surgical technician experience required

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the operating room for surgical cases, ensuring equipment and supplies are ready and sterile.
• Assists the surgical team by passing instruments accurately and efficiently.
• Maintains instrument counts and ensures proper sterilization and handling.
• Supports infection prevention standards and adheres to policy and regulatory requirements.
• Aids in patient positioning, draping, and transfer during procedures.
