The role you’ll contribute:

The Surgical Technologist III supports the healthcare team by performing technical tasks in the perioperative period under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, following clinical standards of care.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Check supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures
• Assist with gowning, gloving, and sterile setup
• Set up sterile fields with instruments, supplies, and medications
• Perform counts with the circulator prior to incision and closure
• Gown and glove the surgeon and assistants
• Help in draping the sterile field
• Pass instruments during procedures
• Maintain sterile technique throughout
• Prepare sterile dressings
• Clean and sterilize instruments for terminal sterilization
• Assist with terminal cleaning of the room

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Course
• Ability to precept and serve as a resource in multiple surgical specialties
• Minimum six years’ experience as a CST
• Specialist in at least 3 major surgical specialties
• Current CST/Certified Surgical Assistant certification
• AHA BLS certification
