Job summary

Day Kimball Healthcare is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist for our Operating Room in Putnam, Connecticut. The Surgical Technologist will assist in patient care during surgeries by maintaining a sterile environment and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.

Responsibilities include scrubbing and setting up instrumentation, maintaining safety protocols, and ensuring the correct count of surgical materials. A completion of an approved Operating Room Technician Program is required.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with experience in maintaining sterile environments.
• Ability to assist surgeons and maintain safety protocols in the operating room.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing duty hours and needs of the department.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and sets up instrumentation for surgical procedures.
• Maintains aseptic technique throughout surgeries.
• Anticipates surgeons' needs for instruments and supplies.

Daily Hours: Flexible

Per Diem Requirement: Per diem employees are expected to work a minimum of 32 hours per month.

Job Summary

As avital memberof oursurgical team, theCertified Surgical Technologistassists with the nursing care of the patient in the operating room by performance of routine and delegated duties according to policies and standards of the hospital and department.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and sets up instrumentation.
• Maintains aseptic technique at all times.
• Maintains awareness of safety hazards and use of equipment to prevent damages or harm to personnel and patient.
• Assists with and anticipates the needs of the surgeon for instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies.
• Maintains correct count of sponges and needles with the circulating nurse and reports correctness and discrepancies.
• Observes and protects the patient before, during, and after the procedure.
• Covers call as policy dictates.
• Flexibility in adjusting duty hours to meet needs of department.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Completion of approved Operating Room Technician Program required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Assists the surgeon as scrub technician according to established policies and standards.
• Assists the circulating RN as necessary.
• Assists in maintenance, care and cleanliness of supplies and surgical suite.
• Covers call as assigned.
• Maintains and increases standards of performance and education.
