Job summary

Covenant Health Fort Loudoun Medical Center in Lenoir City, TN is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a full-time day shift. The CST assists physicians and nursing staff before, during and after procedures, maintains a sterile field, and provides instruments and supplies as needed to support patient care.

Under supervision, you will set up and assist in procedures, operate equipment, maintain sterility, perform counts, and ensure patient safety while aiming for cost-effective care.

Qualifications

• Must hold current and active national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or TS-C certification established by NBSTSA or NCCT.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient care by assisting surgeons and nursing staff before, during and after procedures by creating and maintaining a sterile field and providing instruments and supplies as required.
• Plans, sets up, performs and cleans up the surgical procedure as a circulator and/or scrub tech, operates required equipment, and ensures sterility and proper counts and positioning for patient safety.
• Maintains instrument and equipment in good condition and participates in room turnover and cost-effective care.
• Follows aseptic technique and safety standards; completes required education; participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
