Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Hartford Hospital is seeking a qualified Surgical Technologist to provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will ensure the proper arrangement of surgical equipment in the operating room and assist the surgeon as allowed by standards; you will also help with cleaning the OR after procedures.

Requirements include completion of a surgical technology program, NBSTSA certification within one year, CPR/BLS validation, knowledge of sterile

Qualifications

• Completion of a surgical technology program.
• Must be certified through NBSTSA or obtain certification within one year of employment.
• CPR and BLS validation maintained; annual Validation Day attendance required.
• Knowledge of various surgical procedures and sterile field practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide service before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Ensure proper arrangement of surgical equipment and supplies in the OR.
• Assist the surgeon during operation as allowed by standards; assist with cleaning the OR after procedures.
