Job summary

MEP Health in Manchester, CT, seeks a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures, ensuring a safe, sterile environment and proper specimen handling. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote positive patient outcomes and safe care practices.

Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager, you will maintain aseptic technique, follow medication safety policies, and participate in efficient room turnover.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and CST/TS-C certification.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques, medication safety, and age-appropriate patient care.
• Strong communication and basic computer skills; ability to work under pressure.

Role Overview:

Assists surgeons during operative and invasive procedures, ensuring the operating suite is prepared and maintained in a safe, sterile environment. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to promote positive patient outcomes and safe care practices. Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Qualifications & Skills

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and certification from a recognized national certifying body (CST or TS-C). If uncertified at hire, certification must be obtained within 90 days.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques, medication safety, and age-appropriate patient care.
• Effective communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to work in stressful situations with critical thinking and sound judgment.
