Job summary

Northshore Home Health Care is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support procedures before, during, and after operations in Hartford. You will ensure proper setup of instruments and supplies, assist surgeons, and help clean the operating room post-procedure within a fast-paced team environment.

The role requires completion of a recognized Surgical Technology program, NBSTSA certification within a year, and CPR/BLS.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Program.
  • NBSTSA certification or ability to obtain it within a year.
  • CPR/BLS certification and annual validation required.
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and aseptic techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and recognize intraoperative issues.
  • Adherence to sterile field maintenance and patient safety policies.
  • Understanding of OR emergency protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and arrange surgical instruments and supplies for procedures.

  • Clean and reorganize the operating room after surgeries.
  • Support multiple specialties including general, gynecology, urology, plastic, bariatrics, robotics, thoracics, trauma, and transplant.

Job description

Role: Surgical Technologist responsible for supporting surgical procedures before, during, and after operation. Ensures proper setup of equipment and supplies, assists surgeons, and helps clean the operating room post-procedure. Reports to the manager and collaborates within a multidisciplinary team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and arrange surgical instruments and supplies to ensure readiness for procedures.
  • Assist surgeons during operations within legal and professional standards.
  • Help maintain a sterile environment and ensure patient safety.
  • Participate in cleaning and reorganization of the operating room after surgeries.
  • Support a variety of surgical specialties including general, gynecology, urology, plastic, bariatrics, robotics, thoracics, trauma, and transplant.

  • Certification through the NBSTA or ability to obtain it within a year.
