Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System's Hillcrest Hospital Pryor in Pryor, OK is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech for day shift, PRN. You will assist in sterile technique and instrument handling, participate in surgeries, and ensure equipment readiness.

The role requires completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program, a high school diploma or GED, and BLS certification within 14 days of hire. Preference given to candidates with 1 year of Surgical Tech experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer and prior to direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for surgical procedures, handling instruments and equipment.

• Hillcrest Hospital Pryor is a 48-bed acute care hospital that provides a range of health care services to the community, including emergency services, urology, ENT, gastroenterology, cardiology, orthopedics, general surgery and wound care.

Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

• Perform as a primary scrub person handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure while applying principles of sterile technique.
• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in selecting, assembling, testing, and operating equipment and instruments in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, medical supplies and equipment and assembles, wraps and sterilizes instrument trays.
• Monitor biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency of decontamination of instruments and medical equipment.
• Assist with maintaining established departmental policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements

• 1 year of Surgical Tech experience.
