Insight Surgical Hospital is a small, friendly, and minimally invasive surgical center and clinic with exceptional patient services. We pride ourselves on our fast-paced, patient-focused, and team-oriented environment, featuring professionals in neurology, orthopedics, pain management, chiropractic, gastroenterology, podiatry, and more. Every team member is crucial to the patient experience and our success. Our hospital and clinic do not treat general illnesses, including COVID-19, and have safety measures in place such as temperature and symptom checks, PPE, and hygiene protocols prior to entry.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the acting surgeon, the Surgical Technologist assists in neuro/spine, orthopedic, pain management, and other surgeries. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, a patient-focused approach, and the ability to perform with high accuracy. Candidates should be able to work efficiently, anticipate needs, and utilize critical thinking. The Surgical Technologist supports the surgeon and ensures all instrumentation and equipment are functioning correctly to maximize patient safety.

Job Duties:

  • Assist during surgeries by supporting the sterile field and passing instruments and supplies
  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs and utilize critical thinking skills
  • Maintain and care for surgical instruments and equipment according to policies
  • Learn quickly and maintain a positive attitude
  • Apply principles of aseptic technique
  • Understand the use of OR equipment, instruments, and supplies
  • Ask vital questions and recognize breaks in aseptic technique
  • Assist with patient draping and establishing the sterile field
  • Participate in instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with circulating nurses
  • Help with OR turnover and cleaning for the next case
  • Work under pressure with patience, tact, stamina, and endurance to deliver high-quality patient care

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Surgical Technologist certification preferred
  • Specialization in orthopedic and spine surgeries is a plus
  • CPR certification within 60 days of employment
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills for patient care and documentation
  • Previous experience preferred
  • Knowledge of standards and compliance
  • Willingness to participate in professional development
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Respectful, adaptable, and committed to high-quality care
  • Compassionate with difficult patients
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
