Memorial Community Hospital and Health System in Blair, Nebraska is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to support surgeons, maintain sterile environments, and ensure patient care across all ages. The role includes daytime weekday hours with an on-call rotation.

The candidate will be proficient in sterile technique, familiar with surgical instruments, and capable of adapting to changing schedules while assisting in Preop and Postop areas. BLS is required; CST certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program OR on-the-job trained.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Surgical Technologist certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during surgical procedures by passing instruments and holding retractors.
• Maintain aseptic technique and ensure supplies are available.
• Clean, sterilize, and assemble instruments per protocols.
• Maintain and monitor sterile trays and packs for readiness.
• Support Preop and Postop nursing staff, including patient transport and discharge.
• Stock supplies and assist with inventory management and charge entry.
• Take on-call shifts with a 30-minute response time.
