We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist with Clinical Medical Assistant experience to contribute meaningfully to both surgical procedures and the patient care journey.

Position Summary

This is a dual-role position that blends intraoperative support with patient-facing clinical responsibilities. The ideal candidate is precise, proactive, and compliance-minded, capable of maintaining a sterile surgical field while also ensuring accurate documentation, instrument tracking, and regulatory adherence. You will be integral in supporting surgical excellence, operational readiness, and seamless patient experiences from consult to recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Surgical Technologist Duties :

• Set up and maintain the sterile field; prepare instruments, implants, and supplies before surgery.
• Assist Dr. Maercks during procedures, anticipating surgical steps and passing instruments with precision.
• Perform and document accurate surgical counts; ensure adherence to sterilization and infection control standards.
• Support the circulator or first assist roles as needed to maintain case efficiency.
• Communicate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and troubleshoot in real-time.

Clinical Medical Assistant Duties :

• Conduct pre-operative patient intake including vitals, histories, and clinical photos.
• Assist with minor in-office procedures, suture removals, and post-op wound care.
• Provide clinical support during consultations and follow-up visits.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized treatment rooms and surgical suites.
• Input and manage patient documentation accurately within the EMR.

Compliance & Log Management :

• Maintain detailed surgical logs, instrument tracking forms, and supply usage records.
• Participate in preparation for inspections, audits, and accreditation processes.
• Ensure all surgical equipment and workflows comply with AHCA, OSHA, and infection control regulations.
• Assist with monthly checks of crash cart, medications, sterilizers, and emergency supplies; document per protocol.
• Collaborate with the Surgical Operations Manager to monitor and report any compliance gaps or maintenance issues.
• Maintain logs related to sterilization cycles, biological indicators, and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Surgical Technologist program (required).
• MA / CMA / RMA certification preferred; strong clinical experience required.
• BLS Certification (required); CST certification preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in surgical and / or high-end clinical aesthetic environments.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (AHCA, OSHA, AAAASF or similar) and compliance documentation.
• Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills.

• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-touch boutique practice.

Compensation

Salary Range : $55,000 – $70,000 annually
