Position Overview

The Surgical Technologist facilitates operative procedures by preparing sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment. Maintains the sterile field and supports the surgical team throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• Certification by CST, NBSTSA, or TS-C (required)
• Associate degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (required)
• Minimum one year of perioperative or related surgical experience (preferred)
• BLS certification (required at hire for some locations)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist during surgeries by assembling supplies and maintaining the sterile field
• Prepare and organize sterile supplies and instruments
• Perform surgical counts and specimen labeling
• Support patient rights and safety, including assisting in CPR and patient education
• Participate in ongoing education, performance improvement, and safety initiatives
• Be available for on-call duties and assist in orientation of new staff and students
