Job Summary

The surgical technologist supports safe surgical procedures by ensuring an aseptic environment, proper equipment functioning, and assisting the surgical team with instrumentation and procedural needs. They possess expertise in sterile techniques, human anatomy, and surgical procedures to facilitate effective surgeries.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• National Certification through NBSTSA
• CPR Certification
• Completion of a recognized Operating Room Technician course or equivalent

Essential Functions

• Assist in patient care tasks under RN supervision and support surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile techniques, and managing supplies.
• Handle instrumentation, assist with patient positioning, and support infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in documentation, equipment checks, and collaborative patient care planning.
• Support emergency protocols and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Perform specialized duties related to robotic surgery as a CST Robotic First Assistant, including preparation, intraoperative assistance, and post-procedure decontamination.
• Perform clerical functions in labor and delivery settings as needed.
