Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the supervision of the charge nurse and/or circulating nurse, responsible for functioning independently in all Level I-III procedures, serving as a preceptor, and taking call as required. Adjusts instrumentation based on patient age and size (adolescent, adult, geriatric).

Reports to: OR Manager/Director, Surgical Services

Qualifications Needed:
  • 5 years of experience.
  • Current CST certification through NBSTSA or equivalent.
  • Expertise in the operating room, with ongoing education and certification maintenance.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification from the American Red Cross or AHA.
  • Prefer completion of a surgical technologist course.
  • Two years OR experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills, eye/hand coordination, teamwork ability, and no recent corrective actions.
