This position provides supervision for procedural areas concerning radiation safety, equipment, and products. It serves to consult, advise, and recommend best practices to improve patient experience, quality of care, and reduce costs. The role involves managing operations, strategic planning of human resources, patient services, and financial management within the specialty area. Coordination with leadership to align team efforts with PROMISE standards, improving service line performance, and collaborating on equipment maintenance and safety are key responsibilities. The department offers advanced technology and comprehensive services including vascular, oncology, neurology, neurosurgery, musculoskeletal, cardiac, breast, and women’s health. The team performs minimally invasive interventions alongside neurologists, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, oncologists, and surgeons on complex cases, utilizing cutting-edge treatment options that are safer and more cost-effective.

Responsibilities

  • Manage radiation safety, including reduction initiatives, education, policies, and annual lead checks.
  • Oversee education and competencies related to lead usage, dosimeters, Geiger counters, and accessories.
  • Maintain clinical equipment, coordinate service meetings, assist with procurement, and liaise with departments for equipment management.
  • Standardize and optimize equipment and product usage, manage vendor relations, and participate in supply and case support processes.
  • Participate in hiring, training, mentoring, and staff development, and assist in budget management for repairs and supplies.
  • Support patient satisfaction and quality improvement initiatives, promote continuous process improvements, and facilitate staff performance feedback and conflict resolution.
  • Build positive relationships with staff, peers, and leadership, and support organizational standards and communication.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to perform essential functions and demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of lifespan growth and development principles, patient assessment, and care provision as per policies.
  • Leadership skills in planning, directing, and monitoring staff and processes.
  • Expertise in the department’s specialty to analyze and make recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Interventional Radiology or subspecialties (Cardio, Neuro, Vascular, Oncology).

Licenses

  • Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential (within 30 days of hire).
  • Utah Radiologic Technologist license.
  • ARRT registration, including Vascular Interventional Radiography R.T. (VI).
  • Additional licenses as required by the department.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operational leadership experience in healthcare settings.

Working Conditions

This sedentary role involves sitting most of the time, with ability to exert up to 10 pounds and perform physical tasks such as lifting, reaching, and standing. No adverse environmental exposures are expected.
