Job description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Supports FMCNA's mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy. Adheres to the USV/FMCNA Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and USV/FMS policy requirements.

Under the direct supervision of the Facility Manager or Chief Radiology Technologist, performs scrub and circulating duties during interventional procedures according to USV/FMS policies and procedures. Assists with preparation of the procedure room, inventory of supplies, and stocking of supplies in the procedure room and stock room.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists with the maintenance and setting up of the procedure room in compliance with FMCNA/USV policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.
2. Stocks procedure room and procedure trays with all needed supplies and interventional equipment prior to procedures.
3. Cleans the procedure room, including equipment and machinery, post-procedure.
4. Assists with preparing patients for surgical procedures by positioning, shaving, and prepping.
5. Performs additional tasks as designated by physicians, practicing in compliance with state regulations.
6. Prepares and administers medications within the scope of practice and state regulations.
7. Performs patient transfers and positioning, and transports patients to and from the procedure room.
8. Acts as scrub assistant during interventional procedures under fluoroscopy, maintaining sterile technique per policies and regulations.
9. Draws up intravenous medications, labels them as per Medication Labeling Policy, and Medication in the Sterile Field Competency.
10. Performs circulating duties in the procedure room.
11. Complies with HIPAA policies regarding patient confidentiality.
12. Maintains environmental integrity and aesthetics, ensuring all areas are clean, sanitary, and safe daily.
13. Inspects equipment daily before and after procedures, performs minor repairs, and reports issues.
14. Assists with waste disposal, linen, and equipment sterilization as needed.
15. Supports supply management to prevent wastage.
16. Supports quality standards and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
17. Maintains records and assists with data collection and audits.
18. Provides clerical and practical support to physicians and staff, including preparing instruments and printing images.
19. Assists with training new employees and managing inventory and supplies.
20. Processes and archives patient images per policies and regulations.
21. Participates in regulatory and accreditation activities and addresses deficiencies.
22. Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Includes desk work, patient interaction, and exposure to infectious materials. Must lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds, and stand for extended periods.

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma required.
• Surgical Technologist Certification as required by state regulation.
• All relevant licensure, certification, and training required by state.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with patient care and interventional equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques and procedures involving C-Arm and Ultrasound equipment.
• Completion of BLS certification required.
