Job summary

Athenix — Scottsdale is seeking a Surgical Technologist to prepare and maintain the operating room for plastic and reconstructive procedures. You will ensure sterile technique, instrument readiness, and assist the surgical team to support patient safety and efficient flow.

This PRN/As Needed position in Scottsdale requires CST certification, completion of accredited program, and experience with suturing. You will collaborate with surgeons and staff, handle instrument management, and help achieve

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required).
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential (required).
• Experience with suturing/sewing alongside surgeon (required).
• Demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique and OR protocols.
• Experience or training in surgical site preparation and instrument handling.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR: set up instruments, equipment, supplies, and sterile drapes specific to plastic surgery procedures.
• Assist in surgical site preparation and maintain adherence to infection-control protocols.
• Manage and maintain instruments during procedures; anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments appropriately.
• Clean, sterilize, inspect, and organize instruments/equipment after cases to ensure readiness.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and staff to support smooth workflow and timely case turnover.
• Follow all safety, documentation, and sterile-field standards.

Schedule: Possible shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday - 0630 to on anas needed: surgical tech in the operating room, assist with surgical turnovers, cleaning instruments and preparing materials for upcoming surgeries
