Job summary

Atlas Healthcare Partners, together with Banner Surgery Center – Reid Park in Tucson, seeks a Surgical Technician to support operations in Pain Management, Ophthalmology, ENT and Orthopedics. You will select and place instruments, scrub in, and assist with sterile supplies during procedures, while upholding aseptic technique and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS required; must be registered with State regulatory agency where applicable.
• Must be able to maintain professional decorum in highly stressful emergent situations.
• Ability to respond quickly to the needs of the surgeon and patient.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures; pulls appropriate instruments and supplies and ensures good working order.
• Anticipates the surgeon's needs; passes instruments and assists during surgery.
• Maintains aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout procedures.
• Disposes of sharps and trash; participates in counting of sharps, instruments and sponges.
• Prepares instruments for cleaning after each case and ensures surgeon preference cards are accurate.
• Assists with OR turnover; stocks, replenishes supplies, and cleans operating rooms.
