Job summary

Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist 2 to join the OR team. This full-time day shift position offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance, with great pay based on experience and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience or equivalent is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association is required upon start.
• Registered Surgical Technologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required upon start.

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technologist 2 demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice as the first scrub.
• Demonstrates aseptic technique and advanced knowledge of surgical technique.
• Identifies variances from expected outcomes and responds to changes in patient needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of basic patient care concepts.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, including passing instruments and supplies.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Education

High School diploma or GED

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or licensure eligible

Surgical Technologist 2 Job Responsibilities:

• The Surgical Technologist 2 demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the first scrub.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical technique.
• Demonstrates responsible behavior as a healthcare professional. Identifies variances from expected outcomes and responds to changes in patient needs.
• The Surgical Technologist 2 demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, which includes passing instruments, sutures, and other items appropriate to the procedure.
• Serves as a resource in at least 2 specialty areas/procedures.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma, GED or equivalent
• Experience: 1 years of Surgical Technologist experience or equivalent
• Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required upon start.
• License: Registered Surgical Technologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia required upon start
