Job summary

Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech) to perform sterile procedures and support the surgical team during 6a-6p shifts. The role emphasizes maintaining a sterile field, managing instrument counts, and ensuring equipment and supplies are ready for cases, under RN supervision.

The position requires 1 year of OR experience or graduation from an approved Surgical Technologist program, with BLS and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 1 year OR experience or graduation from an approved Surgical Technologist Program.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS required.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory MVR.
• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and provides sterile supplies, instruments and equipment during surgical procedure.
• Maintains the sterile environment/technique.
• Maintains control over all countables during surgery.
• Assures proper functioning of all equipment prior to use intraoperatively.
• Verifies all required instruments, supplies, and implants are accounted for before the start of surgery.
• Follows OR policies & procedures for turnover between cases; maintains efficiency.
