Job summary

Wesley Woodlawn Hospital & ER in Wichita, KS is seeking a Surgical Technologist for day shifts 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with on-call rotation on weekdays and weekends.

You will prepare the surgical suite and assist during operations as part of a skilled team. You’ll work with cutting-edge equipment, ensure sterile technique, and support patient care. A CST certification is preferred, with BLS required and 0–1 year experience encouraged; graduation from an accredited OR tech program is also

• BLS verification required.
• Entry level to 1 year of Surgery Technician experience.
• CST certification from NBSTSA preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited Operating Room Technician program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the surgical suite with instruments and equipment.
• Assist with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping.
• Scrub in and provide instruments, handle specimens, anticipate team needs.
• Monitor patients and equipment, respond to concerns during procedures.
• Uphold sterile technique and turnover the operating room efficiently.

Job Summary And Qualifications

This is a day-shift position, consisting of five 8-hour shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The schedule also includes an an on call rotation on week days and weekends.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures
• Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety
• Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team’s needs
• Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns
• Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course, as specified in policy
• Entry level to one year of experience as a Surgery Technician
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from NBSTSA is preferred
• Graduation from an accredited program for Operating Room Technicians is preferred
