USPI's Florida Orthopaedic Institute Surgery Center - Temple Terrace is hiring a PRN Surgical Technologist to scrub for procedures under the Director of Nursing. You will prepare and maintain supplies, instruments and equipment and support the surgical team across Orthopedics, ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry and Urology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as required by state and/or center.
• Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or two years’ surgical technician experience.
• Ambulatory surgical center experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient management.
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation.
• Ability to adapt to changing patient conditions and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs for surgical procedures as a member of the surgical team under supervision.
• Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments and equipment for procedures.
• Supports quality improvement activities and participates in center initiatives.

Certified Surgical Technologist at Florida Orthopaedic Institute Surgery Center - Temple Terrace

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, the PRN Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities. Experienced in supporting in the following specialties: Orthopedics, ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, Urology.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certification as required by state and/or center
• Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or previous surgical technician experience of at least two years.
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
