Job summary

Winter Haven Ambulatory Surgery Center is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist to scrub for surgical procedures and maintain a sterile field. You will prepare supplies, instruments, and equipment, supporting physicians and the surgical team.

Qualifications

Welcome to Winter Haven Ambulatory Surgery Center At Winter Haven Ambulatory Surgery Center we provide first-class surgical services for local communities and recognize our employees as our number one assets. We focus on offering a high quality, ambulatory care alternative to a hospital for surgical procedures. We have been in operation at this location since 1985 and perform over 6,000 surgeries per year. Specialty areas include ENT, GI Lab, General Surgery, GYN, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, Oral Surgery and Urology.

Surgical Technologist/Scrub Tech

The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures. Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Completion of a Surgical Technician Program
• Certification (CST) required
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians
