Job description

The Surgical Technologist practices under the direction of the Registered Nurse and Surgeon. This role assists with surgical procedures by preparing, managing sterile equipment/instruments, and preparing patients for surgery. The ST must have a strong understanding of surgical technology and procedure.

SCHEDULE: This is an on-call position to primarily support c-sections and other specialty care. Shift times fall within the hours of: Monday-Friday 7pm-5am; Saturday & Sunday 24 hours. Required response time is 30 minutes. Amount of call shifts will vary and are open for discussion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
• Certification as Surgical Technologist as certified by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surg Tech at a site with multiple operating rooms
• Current BLS for the healthcare provider through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
