Froedtert Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, who will handle instruments and equipment during surgical procedures. The role emphasizes anticipating the needs of the surgeon and maintaining a sterile environment.
Applicants must have a certification in surgical technology or an equivalent education. Strong communication skills and the ability to provide quality patient care are essential. This full-time position offers a schedule with varying start times Monday to Friday.
Schedule: Varying start times between 0600 and 0800. The ASC is open Monday through Friday. Holidays: none Weekends: none.
The Surgical Technologist handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. He/she will perform other related duties as needed to maintain department cost containment, efficiency, as well as quality performance.
Post high school education, certification or diploma required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Certification as a Surgical Technologist is highly preferred.
