Job summary

Saint Thomas Hospital for Specialty Surgery in Nashville, TN is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist to scrub for procedures and maintain a sterile field as part of a skilled surgical team.

You will prepare supplies and equipment, support quality initiatives, and contribute to high-quality spine and joint replacement surgeries. CST certification is required, with prior experience in spine/total joint procedures preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• CST certification required
• Previous experience in spine and total joint procedures is strongly preferred
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures.
• Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center.
• Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.
