Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. He/she will perform other related duties as needed to maintain department cost containment, efficiency, as well as quality performance.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

Is competent in role as a Surgical Technologist and displays knowledge and ability to independently perform roles and tasks related to the field of surgical technology.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school education, certification or diploma required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
