About

Surgical Technologist

Employment Type: Part Time, 0.6 FTE (48 hours per pay period)

Shift: Flexible, mix of 12 and 8-hour shifts

Job Overview

This role facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures within a healthcare environment. The position requires the ability to float across multiple hospital locations in Colorado Springs and Woodland Park.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing the surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensuring the good working order of equipment and instruments.
• Assisting with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Passing instruments to the physician during surgery.
• Continually accounting for the number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Receiving and processing specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
• Applying critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  
  

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED, or military training.
• State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration.
• At least 6 months of Surgical Technologist experience or a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• At least 1 year of experience with general surgical cases is necessary for assignments across all locations.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, with card in-hand before the start date and valid for at least sixty days of hire.
