Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta is seeking a skilled surgical technologist. You will handle instruments, supplies and equipment during surgical procedures, contributing to patient safety and high-quality care across units.

The role may involve working with diverse patient age groups and requires completion of an accredited surgical technology program and BLS certification; CST/TS-C certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Visual color acuity screening depending on the role in specific units.
• Must hold American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Handles instruments, supplies and equipment during surgical procedures.
• Helps to ensure patient safety and quality of care during and in the turnover of surgical procedures.
• Specializes in multiple surgical services lines and potentially works with neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

The surgical technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Helps to ensure patient safety and quality of care by performing various tasks and duties that provide technical assistance and support to medical/surgical staff and personnel during and in the turnover of surgical procedures. Specializes in multiple surgical services lines and potentially works with neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

1. Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
2. Visual color acuity screening depending on the role in specific units.
