Job summary

Iowa Ortho is seeking a Surgical Technician or RN who Scrubs to join our state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center. You will support bone, muscle, joint and spine cases, working in a collaborative, patient-first environment with daytime hours Monday through Friday.

Ideal candidates have surgical tech training or an Iowa RN license, with strong aseptic technique knowledge and a commitment to safety and teamwork to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Completion of Surgical Technology program or past comparable job experience.
• RN license to practice in State of Iowa.
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the operating room.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to surgical procedures.
• Mandatory reporting course within the past 3 years or complete upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs surgical cases.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup and functioning and seeks resources when necessary.
• Prepares for surgical cases efficiently, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia provider and OR team.
• Provides a safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to aseptic technique and department policy.
• Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, team members and ancillary staff.
• Participates in the performance improvement process and adheres to regulatory compliance.

Iowa Orthopedic Center is actively seeking a motivated Surgical Technician or RN who Scrubs to join our team at our state of the art Ambulatory Surgery Center. In this role, you will care for patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, and be an integral team member providing surgical support for all bone, muscle, joint and spine cases. This role offers a dynamic and team-oriented environment focused on mutual support and improvement of patient outcomes. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Scrubs surgical cases.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment set-up and functioning and seeks appropriate resource when necessary.
• Prepares for surgical cases in an efficient manner, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia provider and other OR team members.
• Provides a safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to standards of aseptic technique and department policy.
• Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, team members and ancillary staff.
• Participates in the performance improvement process and adheres to regulatory compliance throughout the organization.

Requirements

• Completion of Surgical Technology program or past comparable job experience
• Or...RN license to practice in State of Iowa
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the operating room
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to surgical procedures
• Mandatory reporting course within the past 3 years or complete upon hire
• Prior experience in Orthopedics preferred
• Ability to maintain a BLS qualification for Surg Tech, ACLS for RN
• Ability to perform in situations requiring set limits, standards and strict adherence to established procedures and guidelines
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Ability to maintain composure in emergency, critical and/or uncommon situations
