Job summary

EyeCare Partners is seeking a Surgical Technician for the Eye Surgery Center of Elizabethtown in Elizabethtown, KY. This PRN position supports surgeons, nurses and assistants in the operating room.

The role emphasizes sterile technique, instrument handling, and readiness to respond to case needs. A CST certification and BLS are preferred, with training considered for strong LPN/MA/COA backgrounds. Office hours are Monday–Friday, 6:00am–5:00pm, with shifts that may start earlier or end later.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years of hospital main operating room experience preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification preferred.
• Experienced Surgical Technician is highly preferred; training possible for strong LPN/MA/COA backgrounds.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical operations under supervision of Surgeons, RNs and Surgical Assistants.
• Set up the Operating Room with instruments and supplies; ensure equipment works.
• Maintain sterile technique and prepare specimens for analysis.
• Pass instruments to surgical staff and assist as needed during procedures.
• Assist with patient transfer to PACU and room turnover.
