Job summary

Prism Vision Group is seeking a Surgical Technician at the Friendship Ambulatory Surgery Center in Chevy Chase, MD. You will assist the surgeon during all operative and invasive procedures and ensure the operating room is prepared and stocked for each case.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technician program.
• Current certification as a Surgical Technician.
• Must be detail oriented and well organized.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient with explanation and verbal reassurance, as necessary.
• Prepares the operating room in a timely and efficient manner with all instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment necessary for each individual procedure.
• Maintains an orderly and sterile back table for the purpose of efficiency and follows physician preference for set-up.
• Maintains responsibility for the care of surgical instruments and adheres to guidelines on transport from OR to decontamination room.
• Understands procedures for sterilization and can verbalize how to validate sterility.
