Job summary

Island Health in Anacortes, WA is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the Surgical Services Team. The role involves assisting surgeons during procedures, ensuring the operating room is properly prepared, and monitoring instrument counts.

It requires a Surgical Technician Certificate, Washington State registration, and BLS certification. The position is full-time, dayshift, with an hourly salary range of $31.07–$46.15.

Qualifications

• Surgical Technician Certificate from an accredited program.
• Minimum 6 months of training or experience in a surgical setting.
• Current Washington State Surgical Technologist Registration.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification.
• Demonstrates competence in care of specimens and handling specimens.
• Observed patient closely with attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon during operative procedures and prep the room for surgery.
• Prepare room with instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for each procedure.
• Assist in positioning, prepping, and draping patients for surgery.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments as required.
• Maintain sterile technique and countertop organization between cases.
• Complete OR counts and report discrepancies immediately.
• Maintain instrument tables and ensure equipment readiness.

Washington State Surgical Technologist Registration
