Job summary

Sante Health Partners is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technician to join our surgical team. The role supports physicians during procedures, maintaining a sterile field and ensuring availability of all instruments and supplies.

The ideal candidate has OR scrubbing experience and certification, and is willing to travel between Southern California locations to support our three sites, including Newport Beach.

Qualifications

• One year OR scrubbing experience within the last three years
• Graduate of an approved surgical technologist program or equivalent military training
• Surgical Technologist Certification NBSTSA/NCCT; BLS

Responsibilities

• Applies standard precautions; keeps a safe environment for self and others.
• Observes patient/family conditions and reports changes to RN.
• Demonstrates competencies during probation/ongoing validation.
• Transports patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens.
• Participates in departmental performance improvement activities.
• Assembles and ensures equipment/supplies are sterile, calibrated, and ready.
• Sets up and organizes the room for procedures.
• Performs scrub role; anticipates surgeon needs and passes instruments.
• Assists physician within scope of competency.
• Assists with patient transfer and stabilization.
• Cleans, sterilizes, and reassembles packs for sterilization or Central Processing.
• Operates sterilization equipment and reports faulty equipment.
• Cleans, lubricates, and performs preventive maintenance.
• Uses computer systems effectively.
