Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician School or LPN with a current license in the state of practice or completion of an appropriate training program.
• CST certification preferred; state grandfather clauses may exempt degree requirements.
• Candidate may be exempt from degree requirement depending on state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Complete hospital and department orientation.
• Perform basic aseptic technique per policy and procedure.
• Scrub minor cases and assist in the OR as needed.
• Work with electrocautery, suction, tables, autoclave and steris processes.
• Maintain knowledge of surgical instruments and patient safety principles in the OR.
• Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates professional behaviors.
