Job summary

Atlas Healthcare Partners is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team in Phoenix. You will select and place surgical instruments, provide supplies, and assist during procedures to support patient care.

The role emphasizes aseptic technique, coordination with surgeons, and efficient turnover between cases, with opportunities to contribute to department operations and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS required. Where applicable, must be registered with State Regulatory Agency.
• Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain professional decorum in highly stressful emergent situations.
• Position requires the ability to be conscientious, organized, and orderly and the ability to respond quickly to the needs of the surgeon and patient.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures. Pulls appropriate instruments and supplies and ensures good working order of instruments.
• Anticipates the surgeon's needs. Passes instruments, retracts tissue and operates equipment during surgery.
• Demonstrates aseptic technique and universal precautions; disposes of sharps and trash; participates in counting and prepares instruments for cleaning.
• Ensures surgeon preference cards and pick lists are accurate.
• Assists with OR turnover between cases; stocks, replenishes supplies and cleans operating rooms.
• Provides business support to the department as needed.
