Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking a Surgical Technician to prepare the operating room and assist the surgical team across diverse procedures. You will set up equipment, support the team, and uphold sterile conditions to facilitate patient healing in a dynamic OR environment.

The role requires adaptability and a strong team mindset, with responsibilities spanning instrument handling, specimen management, and direct procedural assistance to surgeons.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years clinical experience as a surgical technologist.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• High School GED or equivalent.
• Graduate/certification in surgical technology as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assists circulating nurses in set up of surgical procedure according to physician preference and hospital protocol.
• Handles laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol.
• Assists the Surgeon during procedures as requested.
• Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies.
• Assists in patient/equipment preparation.
• Performs follow-up actions as directed.
