Job summary

Providence Newberg Medical Center is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support the surgical team in delivering safe patient care. You will assist the surgeon with sutures, supplies, instruments and equipment while maintaining sterile technique throughout procedures.

The role requires certification (NBSTSA/JCAHPO/NCCT), completion of an accredited surgical technology program, and BLS per American Heart Association.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by the CAAHEP or ABHES and active certification by NBSTSA, JCAHPO, or NCCT.
  • Completion of a training program in the armed forces or Public Health Service with 16 hours of CE every two years.
  • "Grandfathered" status for work experience in ASC, hospital, or federal agency between 2014-2017 with 16 hours of CE every two years.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the surgeon and surgical team during procedures by providing sutures, supplies, instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain proper sterile technique during the procedure.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide required equipment and instruments promptly during surgery.

Description

Works closely with all members of the surgical team to provide direct patient care in an effort to optimize positive surgical outcomes. Assists the surgeon and surgical team during the procedure by providing the appropriate sutures, supplies, instruments and equipment. Maintains proper sterile technique during the procedure.

Required Qualifications:
  • Acceptable education requirements include one of the following:
  • Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by the CAAHEP or ABHES and holds an active certification by the NBSTSA, JCAHPO, or NCCT.
  • Completion of a training program in a branch of the armed forces or in the Public Health Service Commissioned Corp and who completed 16 hours of continuing education every two years.
  • \"Grandfathered\" based on work experience in an ASC, hospital, or federal government agency between January 1, 2014 through January 1, 2017 only and who complete 16 hours of continuing education every two years.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
