Job summary

Providence Seaside Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technician for a 1.0 FTE full-time day-shift role, with weekday and weekend coverage.

Work closely with the surgical team to provide direct patient care, assist the surgeon during procedures with sutures, supplies and instruments, and uphold sterile technique.

Qualifications

• Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by the CAAHEP or ABHES and active NBSTSA/JCAHPO/NCCT certification.
• Completion of armed forces or Public Health Service training with 16 hours CE every two years.
• “Grandfathered” status for certain work experience with required CE.
• Upcoming hire requires National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Description

Surgical Technician at Providence Seaside Hospital is 1.0 FTE full time position working during weekdays and weekends on a day shift.

Works closely with all members of the surgical team to provide direct patient care in an effort to optimize positive surgical outcomes. Assists the surgeon and surgical team during the procedure by providing the appropriate sutures, supplies, instruments and equipment. Maintains proper sterile technique during the procedure.

$8000 hiring bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

Required Qualifications:

• Acceptable education requirements include one of the following: Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by the CAAHEP or ABHES and holds an active certification by the NBSTSA, JCAHPO, or NCCT.
• Completion of a training program in a branch of the armed forces or in the Public Health Service Commissioned Corp and who completed 16 hours of continuing education every two years.
• “Grandfathered” based on work experience in an ASC, hospital, or federal government agency between January 1, 2014 through January 1, 2017 only and who complete 16 hours of continuing education every two years.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
