Job summary

Saint Marys Regional Health System in Russellville, AR is seeking a Surgical Technician for a full-time role with a Monday–Friday schedule. No weekends or holidays unless on call. On-call varies. Requires 3 years external or 1 year internal Surgical Technician experience and a Certified Surgical Technology Program.

  • Performs on-call services as requested.
  • Ensures room turnovers are efficient and timely.

How you'll contribute
  • Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
  • Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments.
  • Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Passes instruments to physician during surgery.
  • Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
  • Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
  • Performs on call services as requested.
  • Actively participates and ensures room turnovers are efficient and timely.
  • Assesses surgical schedule in coordination with RN's and management to ensure patient needs are met and all necessary equipment/ supplies are available.
  • Assist with orientation and training of personnel and students.
  • Participates and attends meetings as required and/ or assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

What we're looking for

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Certified Surgical Technology Program

Minimum Work Experience

External candidate - 3 years as a Surgical Technician and service line sign off within 1 year
Internal candidate - 1 year as a Surgical technician and service line sign off

Certifications: None required; BCLS preferred.
