Job summary

Jobtailor in Little Rock, AR is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to assist in sterile field setup, instrument handling, and operating room preparation for daily and next-day cases.

The role requires completion of NBSTSA- or NCCT-accredited programs, PPE proficiency, and strong communication to support surgeons, nurses, and staff. On-site position with opportunities for professional certification and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from NBSTSA- or NCCT-accredited Surgical Technology program, or completed military surgical training, or have 2+ years of on-the-job scrub experience.
• Able to be fitted for and wear PPE including N95, PAPR, CAPR.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Annual TB screening, criminal background check, and substance abuse testing are required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble supplies for surgical procedures and maintain sterile fields.
• Coordinate care for surgical cases, surgeons, nurses, and team members.
• Prepare operating rooms for upcoming and following-day cases.
• Pass surgical instruments and assist in room preparation.
• Ensure instrumentation, supplies, and equipment are available.
• Clean, arrange, and transport instruments per department policy.
• Assist with instrument reprocessing tasks as assigned.
• Demonstrate knowledge of OR equipment, maintenance, and safety.
• Use communication tools to support team members and knowledge sharing.
• Attend departmental in-services and training offerings.

Job description

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduate of an NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technology program OR NCCT-approved Surgical Technology program OR completed military surgical/scrub tech training OR two or more years of on-the-job surgical/scrub experience in an acute care facility or ambulatory surgery center
• Ability to be fitted for, don, and perform routine tasks in PPE, including N95 masks, PAPR, or CAPR
• Required License or Certificate documentation
• Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, and Substance Abuse Testing
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
• Preferred: 1 year of operating room experience
• Preferred: Scrub Tech Certification
• Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively
