Job summary

Providence St. Vincent Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technician for Labor Delivery on a .9 FTE night shift (7pm–7:30am), with three 12-hour shifts per week and rotating weekends.

The role includes direct patient care alongside the surgical team and maintaining sterile technique. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and a $8,000 hiring bonus for eligible external hires, along with a night shift differential of $4.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAHEP/ABHES surgical technology program with NBSTSA/JCAHPO/NCCT certification.
• Armed Forces/Public Health Service training with 16 hours CEU every 2 years.
• “Grandfathered” status for work in ASC/hospital/government with CEU every 2 years.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with the surgical team to provide direct patient care during procedures.
• Maintains sterile technique and prepares sutures, supplies and instruments.

Surgical Technician - Labor Delivery at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. This posting represents a .9 FTE, NIGHT shift opening (7pm-7:30am, 3, 12 hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends.

Extra Incentives:

• Night shift differential – $4.50 p/hr.
• $8,000 hiring bonus offered for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment

Works closely with all members of the surgical team to provide direct patient care in an effort to optimize positive surgical outcomes. Assists the surgeon and surgical team during the procedure by providing the appropriate sutures, supplies, instruments and equipment. Maintains proper sterile technique during the procedure.

Required Qualifications:

• Acceptable education requirements include one of the following:
• Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by the CAAHEP or ABHES and holds an active certification by the NBSTSA, JCAHPO, or NCCT.
• Completion of a training program in a branch of the armed forces or in the Public Health Service Commissioned Corp and who completed 16 hours of continuing education every two years.
• “Grandfathered” based on work experience in an ASC, hospital, or federal government agency between January 1, 2014 through January 1, 2017 only and who complete 16 hours of continuing education every two years.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
