Job summary

Baptist Health Care is seeking a Surgical Technician III to support surgeons, anesthesia personnel and nursing teams in the operating room, under RN supervision. The role covers pediatric to geriatric patients, with possible circulating duties under supervision.

The selected candidate will maintain up-to-date certifications, manage department supplies, and participate in patient care planning and documentation. On-call readiness may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma/Certificate in Practical Nursing or Surgical Technology required.
• Certificate of Completion for Military trained corpsmen or equivalent hospital training program required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse license (FL or eligible compact state) upon hire.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeons, anesthesia personnel and nurses in the operating room.
• Maintains current knowledge and certification in surgical procedures and instrumentation.
• Directs other personnel in the provision of care under supervision.
• Ensures accurate documentation of nursing care and patient status.
• May be required to remain on campus before, during, and after severe weather or disasters.
