Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team under AST guidelines. The role involves handling instruments, supplies, and equipment, maintaining sterile setup, and assisting with patient movement and suite preparation to support safe operative care.

The position requires at least three years of surgical tech experience or equivalent certification, with ongoing education to maintain certification and a requirement to attain BLS certification

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of Surgical Technologist experience in an operating room or Certification through an approved accreditation body as required by the state in which services are rendered.
• Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency.
• 20 Hours of continuing education annually as required to maintain certification based on state laws

Responsibilities

• Assists in performance of procedures for the surgical patient in a manner consistent with established policies and procedures.
• Assists in providing intraoperative care.
• Provides and utilizes equipment and supplies based on patient needs in a safely and adequate manner.
• Performs activities that demonstrate technical accountability.
• Participates in ongoing educational activities.
• Completes assigned goals.
